Exciting Stuff

One of my Valentine's cards that I made recently was selected for the Stamping 411: Stampers Showcase.  How excited am I?  VERY!!

On another note, I recently decided to take the plunge and become a Stampin' Up Demonstrator myself.  An offer came up that was just too good to pass up.

I'm going to have my first class(es) on Sunday February 20th and Monday February 21st.  If you are interested in attending please contact me.  Attendee's will get to make 2 cards as part of my Demonstrator Kick Off for the low, low price of $0!  That's right FREE!   The cards will be a birthday card and an anything card.  I will be using the cupcake set below for the Birthday Card!  Come back next week and see a sample card!  =)

More Valentines

So this week I continued to work on some Valentine's cards.  Here are three more of my creations.

The first was for Stampin 411's Saturday Sketch Challenge #189.  I made some slight changes to the design and love how it turned out.  It is hard to tell but I used craft ink for the heart and then added sticky tack embossing powder before sprinkling glitter over the heart.

Another card was cased from a Split Coast Stampers gallery.  Love the way it turned out.  Added a little pearl accent to the heart and I think it adds just the right touch.

The last card I made was from one of my all-time favorite stamp sets Unfrogettable.  I made one similar years ago and I know I probably cased it from somewhere else.

So I think for now I'm going to have to put Valentine's behind me and start to work on some more birthday cards.  I have several birthdays in late February and March to work on!

A Season of Valentine's

So my dear friend and co-technology teacher asked me to make her some Valentine's cards today.  Upon arriving home I found my Stampin' Up Demonstrator Kit on my front step.  I need no more encouragement than that to get started.  I love new Goodies!!  =)  I played hard with Taylor to give her extra incentive to go to bed without a fight and put her to sleep and then snuck to my craft area and got started sorting through and organizing everything.  I had a card idea in my head that is based on a card that I did during a stamp camp a while back.  I am 100% happy with the results.  I think it turned out great!  I hope my dear friend likes it as much as I do!

I'm also entering this card in the Creative Sketches Holiday Sketch Challenge!

Stamp Sets: Season of Friendship, I {Heart} Hearts
Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, and Wild Wasabi

And as always my area is a disaster still but I feel great!
Two nights of stamping in one week! Wahoo!

2 Weeks of Stamping - Thinking of You & Stamp Camp

So this week I had several cards I needed to make for those my husband and I care for to let them know we are thinking of them.  These times, make us truly blessed for everything we have in our lives.  The first card I played around with an embossing folder that my sister-in-law had gotten for me for Christmas, an idea that I saw on Robin Merriman's Blog,  and a stamp set that retired last summer called Garden Whimsy.  I made two different versions of the card and I'm having a hard time deciding which one I like more.  I used Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, and Bashful Blue.

The other card that I made was also a Thinking of You card but I kept it more neutral tones.  I used one of my favorite stamp sets that I got as a Hostess many years ago and Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, and Regal Rose.  I didn't have the ribbon I really wanted for this card but I made due with what I had.  I have made this card before and it's one of my favorites.  I love its simplicity and cleanliness!

On another note, last week's stamp time was a bust, life was just too busy.  Anywho, I ended up getting my weekly time in at my monthly stamp camp at Carol's.  Here are the three cards we made.

So far, so good with my new year's resolution.  Now to keep it going into February.

Black and White and Red All Over

It's not a newspaper!  It's a Valentine's Card!  I had two different challenges this week that I liked for my weekly stamping time.  2 weeks down 50 to go on my 2011 Resolution!

The first challenge was the Utah Diva's Inspiration Challenge #129 and the second was Utah Diva's Sketch Challenge for January 8th.

I used the my new favorite ribbon technique - scrunchie ribbon along with some masking, and Amazing Glaze to make the center heard very thick and glossy.  I'm mostly satisfied with the result although I wish my Black ink didn't have a Blue hue to it.  I may have to order a new one this month to see if there is a difference.

Supplies
Stamp Sets: I {Heart} Hearts, Seeing Spots, and Sweet Spot
Ink: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler
Black Satin Ribbon, Polka Dot Embossing Folder
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

My First Sketch Challenge #184

So lately I've been looking at some different blogs that do weekly challenges.  I have decided to try to do at least one a week as part of my New Year's Resolution.  This week I played along with Stamping 411 and their Saturday Sketch.  I tried to use a technique that I haven't used much lately so I broke out my sponges and sponged the edge on the single flower image.  I ended up not adding a hanging tag but I'm pretty happy with the way the rest of the card turned out, especially the color combination which I saw on another blog but can't find it now to link it!  This card has also been added to my current Birthday Card Pack.
